Re: Are we heading for another Roeder scenario?
Has that wanker Brown ever tried to justify him giving Roader the job? An absolute basket case appointment if there ever was one.

Re: Are we heading for another Roeder scenario?
Blagg - That's right, everytime a club releases a manager without having someone else definite lined up it turns into a disaster of epic proportions. You don't half talk some shit.

No
Unless we have another dicanio and terry brown to undermine him.

Don't worry, Caistor. Steve McLaren hasn't knocked us back.

Re: Are we heading for another Roeder scenario?
What do you want them to do, Blagg? Give him a three year deal then sack him next week and pay up that 3 year deal once they know who they are getting?

They will have an idea of who they want and will be working on that already I expect.

That's an interesting (and rather pointless) comment. So you think it would be a good idea to let Allardyce walk and NOT have a definite replacement lined up then?

Thanks for YOUR opinion.

Re: Are we heading for another Roeder scenario?
Yep. Although I seriously hope that these owners are sensible enough that if the haven't got the right man in and the one they want then they extend Allardyce's contract. If they just let BFS walk without having an acceptable replacement in then it will be a poor business decision of epic proportions.

Re: Are we heading for another Roeder scenario?
I think the worst that can happen is we run out of options and get redknapp and he is miles better than roeder. I think it was encouraging that Benitez would have joined, its only the intervention of real madrid that prevented it.

Re: Are we heading for another Roeder scenario?
Bilic has a brain...

Roeder was an idiot...

So the answer is 'No'...

Sven Roeder 11:07 Sun May 24
Re: Are we heading for another Roeder scenario?
How about a Sven Roeder scenario ? I was always the better manager in the family

From what people are saying we have been chasing Benitez & if he goes to Real it will probably be Bilic.
That's a hell of a lot better situation than 2001.

Re: Are we heading for another Roeder scenario?
Let's be fair, the BERKS did employ and not sack Avram Grant. They've also held on to BFS for a season and a half too long.

However we've got the OS on the horizon and have hopefully learnt from before so I actually think they'll get a good manager this time.

Sullivan WILL have to hand back transfers if it's a very big name though, if you're going to go for someone like Benitez let him do what he wants.

Re: Are we heading for another Roeder scenario?
I am reassured that although Bilic would be about 5th choice and not who the owners really want, everything will be okay...

Re: Are we heading for another Roeder scenario?
The only way that we'll end up with another Roeder situation is if we end up with Glenn Roeder and that's obviously not going to happen.

He turned us down yesterday.

Dog - You are way too predicatable.

Re: Are we heading for another Roeder scenario?
We managed to better it with aram grant 5 years ago

Private Dancer 10:21 Sun May 24
Re: Are we heading for another Roeder scenario?
We have too much money now to allow for something like that to happen again, plus you really would have to go some to appoint someone as shit as him.

A cunt of a thread.

Mad Dog 10:16 Sun May 24
Re: Are we heading for another Roeder scenario?
I'm quoted in "nightmare on green street" saying that I wad worried about Roeder's cv. He'd been a failure as a manager long before we took the cheap option.

The cheap option ended up costing millions and millions. We lost a generation of stars and got set back years.

Billic is no sir Alex ferguson nor Jose mourinho, but I doubt he'd be another grant or Roeder either
